Teacher Training & Workshops
I have worked with a variety of schools throughout South East Asia and Australia and would love to share my experience with you and your school community. I have described a number of the workshops I have developed presently, and am more than happy to personalise an experience for your school as you require. Please get in touch with my via the contact page of this website.
I have had the opportunity to share my ideas on creative, engaging and “Fun” teaching in a number of countries and I’m more than happy to tailor my keynote topics to your requirements. I have found the upbeat nature of my keynote is a great way to get people motivated as schools start multi day workshops.
iPad & Google Suite Workshops
I became an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2010, and have been very lucky to have worked in schools using the iPad since its release in 2009. Since then I have seen great change in the way it is implemented in classrooms. I have a number of sessions listed below that I share regularly at conferences, and am more than happy to develop sessions that meet your needs more specifically. In addition to working closely with the iPad, I have also developed a number of sessions focused on Google's G-Suite that aim to get teachers and students using this amazing resource more creatively.
Some sample sessions I currently run include:
- Exploring Digital Narratives
- Leading Successful Mobile Learning Initiatives
- Creativity, curriculum and your iPad
- Keeping iPad Creativity Alive in your class & school
- Stop Motion - Animating your classroom
- Mobile Photography - Tips, tricks and uses in the classroom
- Engaging reluctant writers using G Suite
- How to teach movie making to students
- Publishing using Google Slides
- Tracking student data using G Suite
- Contemporary teaching methods and G Suite
- Google Ninja Tips and Tricks
1 & 2 Day Workshops for Teachers & Students
It is always fun to have a bit more time with teachers and students to really dig into a concept and create some amazing artifacts. I have a number of 1 & 2 day workshops that I can run with just teachers, just students, or a mix of both. We could even set up a parent workshop if you would like to. These workshops are based on having everyone active and creating, with the end product being a portfolio of artifacts to take away and share.
- Harness the Creative Power of the iPad
- Teaching movie making using iPads
- iOS Bootcamp
- The iPad Creative Curiosity Institute
- Photography, point, shoot, share
I enjoy having the opportunity to work with parents to explore the creative potential of the iPad, and explore ways to get kids creating on the iPad rather than just playing games. Further to this I can help your organisation develop and implement a Digital Citizenship Strategy to ensure your students are safe and parents are well informed.
Genius Hour - iTime Implementation Strategies
One of the most rewarding jobs I have been involved in was the implementation of Genius Hour / iTime across the elementary school of Singapore American School. The engagement, dedication and incredible outcomes from young students through older was amazing. I would love to have the opportunity to share with you the resources, pitfalls to watch out for and highlights to look forward to.
Educational, Event & Promotional Photography
As well as being a teacher, Shaun is also a professional photographer. He is able to come to your school and capture those moments in the day where teachers and students are finding inspiration, are excited about learning and expressing themselves. This a great way to communicate the success of your school to parents, your local community or for advertising campaigns. In addition Shaun can also capture school events, celebrations or other important moments you want shared through beautiful digital images.
